i had decided on an iPhoto 60 due to cost/GB, but after reading all the complaints of bad sound quality i'm thinking that i'd rather not take the risk. also read in a review at iPodlounge that the mini has sound problems. so, i'm considering a shuffle, or a 20GB. does anyone know if these are free from the reported sound problems?
thanks

Hi,
Do you have any links that refer to iPod sound quality problems? I found this one.

I have the 4th generation 20 gig iPod and noticed sound problems with certain equalizer settings, though I can't remember which settings caused this. I also notice that my iPod distorts while playing some classical music.

Hi,
It may be the headphones. I haven't really investigated it enough to find out. My thinking is the iPod is a disposible walkman that wasn't built for hi-fi reproduction. If I want really good sound I will stick with my home stereo and a good set of head phones.
