Keyspan has introduced an inexpensive adapter and free software to let PS/2 keyboards and mice work on USB-equipped Macs and PCs. more

This should open up a lot of lower cost KVM switches to Mac users. I have a MiniView USB which works alright with my Mac, but my PC "disconnects" the USB mouse and keyboard when I switch away and takes some time to re-connect them when I switch back. A PS/2 KVM would eliminate this problem.

"Micro Innovations" has made one of these for months. It allows me to use my PS2 Logitech 3-button mouse with my Mac so I can use Maya the RIGHT way. It did not require me to install any drivers or software.
I got it at Fry's Electronics (outpost.com). I don't see a model number on it.

Hi,
Yes, USB to PS/2 adapters are common but what's new here is the Mac software. I've never heard of one these adapter's having Mac software before...

Months? Try years even. I have one that I bought quite a long time ago from RadioShack made by Compaq. Remember them?
I think I paid $12-15 for it. The bundled software is a nice convenience but you can get the same thing for free.

UControl is probably the best of the bunch and was a MacWorld reviewed Mac Gem last year. Another good one is DoubleCommand, which was also a featured Mac Gem this January. SproketWare's HID Helper (being the freeware distributed by Keyspan) seems to have beaten the others to the punch with Tiger compatibility however, it's webpage indicates that it only works with Keyspan's adapter.
