Need some help. I have a G4 and just upgraded with Tiger. Have had some trouble with CD's and latest problem is the inability to burn a CD. I have tried 5-6 CD's, some a year old, some just bought today...gone through the process with each and when it starts to verify I get the following message: "This disc did not verify correctly and is unreliable. Because this disc is unreliable, discard it and try again using a new, blank disc. (error code 0x80020063)" Any idea what I can do. I'm in a corner.

As a workaround, do you have Roxio Toast 6 Titanium?

After about two hours with Apple, the problem may be solved. Removing a .plist file from the users Preferances. So far, OK.

A similar thing happened to me, but not related to Tiger. iTunes just refused to burn CDs. I trashed the preferences (.plist) and that was the fix. I am using 10.3.9

I had a problem today too. I don't know if it's related to Tiger though, since this is the first time trying to burn a disc on Tiger and on my new powerbook. Never had this problem on my Powermac running Panther though. I inserted the disc that I wanted to burn some pictures to, and when the Finder tried to mount it, it said that the disc was not readable, or something. But through iPhoto, I clicked Burn and it worked without any problem.

I recently installed Tiger, and am having the same problem with burning CDRW's; it either misidentifies them as CDR's, or tells me that there is a problem with the disk. What .plist file did you remove to resolve the problem?

I'm now having the same problem after updating to 10.4.3, which .plist did you delete? This is quite annoying.

Getting the same error trying to burn DVD's. 0x80020063. Tried different brands - same problem. Can burn CD's no problem. I reinstalled Jaguar on a separate drive could burn 200 megs on DVD. Couldn't burn 1.2 gigs on DVD - tried 3 times. Tried deleting (backed up first) all .plist files. same problems. Is there anyone out there who backs up large data onto DVD on a regular basis with Tiger?
Thanks
David

Have you tired to burn at a lower speed than the maximum?

I'd also like to know that. Not the exact same problem, but similar enough that knowing it might come in handy, thanks.
