Is there anyway to backup your entire system including all installed programs? I have lots of expensive software installed, and I am not the best at keeping track of all the various disks. Is there anyway to make a snapshot of my entire disk and back it up so that I can just restore it if my computer crashes?

See the current thread in the OS X forum (i.e. this forum) about "Backup Routine."
Carbon Copy Cloner, and Disk Utility's Restore tab, will do it for free. There are a bunch of commercial backup utilities that you can also use.

If you want a bootable clone, be sure to get a firewire disc (OS X will not boot from a USB drive). If you use OS X's Disk Utility, just be sure to check the "erase destination" tab to get a complete and bootable clone. Alone with CCC (which has issues with Tiger, but may, in some cases be made to work - see here), there is also Lacie's free SilverKeeper (here).
