Digicam won't mount

My digital camera (Canon Powershot A70) won't mount to the desktop on my Powermac G4 (QS) under any version of 10.3, and it won't mount on my new Powerbook G4 with 10.4.1 either. Both computers recognize it, and open up Image Capture/iPhoto, where I can import my images; however, I also want to use my camera as a USB drive, so I need to mount it to the desktop. Does anyone know how to do this?
