Pinnacle PCTV USB in OS X - Possible?

Hello Maccers,
I have just ordered a new Mac mini (to be here tomorrow, after only ordering last night!). I'd like to know if an older PCTV USB unit (with composite input) will work in OS X. Obviously, it won't be autodetected, so I'd like to know if there are some other drivers for other Mac-compatible USB units that I could try. Is there a quicker way than recording something in iMovie/etc to see if the unit is indeed working?
