Is there a way to do a clean install - either archive and install or erase and install - from a OS 10.2X upgrade cd from Apple's OS update program (for macs sold between MWNY and Aug 23)? My jag crashed big time and I want to do a clean install, but the CD seems to offer only an upgrade option images/icons/confused.gif

Or is apple forcing my to shell out more $$$ to buy yet the non-upgrade version of 10.2? images/icons/shocked.gif

The upgrade CD must have at least 10.1 on the hard drive to do the update - but you can do a clean install of 10.1 and then follow with the 10.2 upgrade. - it worked well for me just a few days ago images/icons/grin.gif

You should be able to install OS 10.1, then do a erase and install of Jaguar over 10.1.
