With Apple limiting G5s to only two internal HDs, this is the only way to get decent SATA capacity. But over $1 a gig? That is soooooo 2001.

These are, to the best of my knowledge, the first 500GB drives on the market. Other 500GB drives on the market, like Lacies Big Disk, are multi-drive configurations in an enclosure similar in size to those for single drive configurations. As other hard drive manufacturers begin to roll out 500GB drives and more people start to buy them, we should start to see prices come down a bit.
