I've had my blue iPod mini for about a month, and last night an odd problem arose. I had jusy uploaded my iTrip stations into the iPod, and I played one of them just to see what it would do. About ten seconds after playing it, all of the text and graphics disappeared. The screen would still light up when I touched it, and I could even get music to play by blindly navigating the menus and landing on a song.
I researched this problem online, and came up with nothing, so I decided to do the generic saves (hard reset, update, reformat). None of that worked, so I took it to the Mac "genius" at the Apple store today. He touched the Menu button once, and voila! it worked again. He then tried anything he could to get it to mess up again, but to no avail. When I arrived back home, I noticed the screen had gone blank again. I tapped on Menu several times until it came back. Then, just a few minutes ago, the same thing happened. Once again, several (12 or 15) taps on Menu brought it back.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this, or what I can do to fix it? It makes me want to cry/scream/go get a new one every time it happens. I hope someone has a solution. Thanks.
