Not really -- there have been other "building toy" games that fit the bill that came out long before this -- some of them were available in the bad old Classic days.
This game, however, is just that -- a game. The Lego motif is a nice tie-in and certainly gets used in the gameplay to a certain degree, but really, this is a Star Wars game.

Hey Peter,
Any word, rumors or otherwise, about other Star Wars games coming to the Mac? It seems like there are a lot coming out on the PC, but we're not getting them. Battlefront just came out while Battlefront II will be out for them in a couple months. Other SW games never make it to the Mac at all. I would think that the ones that do are among the most popular Mac games, meaning that they'd release more of them, but apparently not.

I don't deal in rumors. As far as new announcements, no, there aren't any that are Star Wars-specific.

This is a neat game on the PS2 platform. I hope it translates well to the Mac. Do not let the E rating or the Legos idea fool you into thinking this is some kiddie game.
A bit off topic. I really hope that the new platforms like the PS3 do not end up killing computer gaming. As much as I fondly remember holding a glow in the dark stone while sitting in front of my Apple CE II playing Zork until 2 am. I do have to admit that it is a lot easer on my old back slouched on the sofa playing God of War.

I was only making note that it is certainly a strange juxtaposition, though, or an ironic one (in my opinion).

Well, let me put it to you this way: Battlefront is the best-selling Star Wars game of all time, and it finally just came out for the Mac. If it sells really well on the Mac, I'm sure that Aspyr will have reason to license other Star Wars games for Mac publication. But it's ultimately up to the consumer -- if they don't buy it, Aspyr doesn't have much reason to license its sequel or other expensive Star Wars games.
