iPod mini dock connector

Hello,
I am considering purchasing an iPod mini (6Gb). I currently have an iPod 60Gb.
Is the dock connector on the iPod mini the same as the iPod 60Gb?

the dock is different (the 60GB is thicker), the cables are the same
