Hello,

Can anyone help me. I would like to purchase the 933 G4 Tower and am finding that no one has any. I know they are discontinued, but it has only been about a month and they already have disappered? I think the price drop really added to people buying it. I am looking and it seems to be of no avail. Please help...

I just did a search on Ebay and it found one.

For the cost of that, why not just purchase a new machine?

they were gone in two days...I posted this a while ago and had the same problem you are having now. My solution: buy local, or buy a g4 800 and upgrade. I got a 933 from local store for 1499 (plus tax) with free ram and a free copy of osx. Plus, i figured it would be easier to upgrade later than the dual processor ones...

Is it possible to upgade these with a second CPU? I know there are 2 cpu slots. If so, where could one buy one?

Actually dual microprocessor Macs have two CPUs on one daughtercard installed in one CPU daughtercard connector. So, in order to upgrade to anything else you must find a microprocessor daughtercard from the same "series" of machines.

So is it possible for me to upgrade my 867Mhz G4 with a purchase of a daughter card and processor? If so where can I get it?

Hi
Well, you can't just go out and buy a microprocessor (daughtercard) from anywhere like with a Windows machine. You would have to search a place like eBay to find a 933MHz or dual 800MHz G4 (which is the same series) and swap your 867MHz with the new one. But, since they are difficult to find and you'll pay a few hundred dollars than it may not be worth it anyway.

This is a dual microprocessor G4 (daughtercard) from an older machine than yours. It is a dual 450MHz.

You can't buy just the microprocessor. They come soldered onto the daughter card.

I hope that makes sense.
