Not that it's a bad thing, but I was just wondering. I mean, the Mini was very popular, and if Apple can shove a 20gb into a Mini, that would be just too sweet!!!! Anyone got any opinions on this?

You can file this question away with the question of whether Apple will sell the Cube again. It is never going to happen.

Most unlikely to happen as Steve Jobs announced the iPod mini was being replaced by the iPod nano. iPod minis have been removed from the online store (except for the education store). You won't see an iPod mini with 20GB.
But you are on target for thinking Apple will put more GB into smaller iPods.

Okay, okay. But all I'm trying to say is this...Will Apple release the next update to the iPod that will rival the size of the mini?

Unless someone comes up with a radical breakthrough in storage devices, no. The biggest Hitachi Microdrive (the type of drive that was used in the iPod mini) currently available is 6GB. The larger, 2.5-inch drive used in the iPod photo has ten times that amount of storage capacity 60GB.
At this point in time, I don't think that Apple can shrink the iPod photo without severely compromising on storage space.
