Hi all,
I have an ibook G4 with OS 10.3.9
I have managed to block the volume control keys, contrast control keys etc (in fact I guess all the pre-set control keys on the top line of the keyboard)
This seems to have happened after I installed a wrong demo version of Endnote (8). Hence two questions:
1. Can it really be the case that these keys are blocked by one software I installed? If not, why might have caused it?
2. How do I get rid if this Endnote demo version? (I have deleted the installer and there are components spread everywhere, links to office that cause problems in word etc...)
Thanks for your help!

-CS,
In reply to:

(I have deleted the installer

Are you sure there was not an UN-installer in the Installer? Sometimes you can hold, I think, the Option key which gives the UN-install feature on some programs. Did you do a Find (command + f) and type in Endnote to try and locate all the preferences? I'm not familiar with the progam at all though.

I'd first take a visit to the Keyboard and Mouse preference pane in System Preferences. There's an option to treat the F-keys as F-keys or not (which would cause the symptoms you're describing).
