Thanks.
So many things to consider. And good point you brought up about resale value of your 1GHz TiBook. With each new update the resale value goes down.
So... do you love the new PowerBook?

I purchased m first powerbook (17") 1 week ago and I am very happy with it, specially due to: its size and battery life. The only thing I didn't like was the resolution, it is awesome sometimes, to watch movies for example, but must things and websites are very small. Everything is smaller and a lot of things (including some fonts) look blurred. Other than that it is a very good computer.

I did not believe it would be as different as it is. The Alu book is truly an upgrade! Everything about it feels lighter yet stronger, more powerful, and just overall, better. The screen rez increase over the Ti is small, but it is nice to have a bit more room to work with. I love the backlit keyboard, I am often in dark rooms (I work a lot of nights) and makes life much easier. I think the only mistake I made was not maxing out the RAM, but for $100 on ebay we can take care of that /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I don't think not maxing the RAM was necessarily a bad thing. Apple's RAM prices are considerably higher than elsewhere.
Macnuke may have some good advice for you on the RAM situation /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

In regards to the possibilty of an earlier intel powerbook release...
I had started a new post about this article having searched but not found this discussion already in progress somewhat based on that article.
Never the less...
I think it was wise of the original poster to buy their powerbook now. They will be very happy with it and it will last them quite some time. I also think it isn't that likely for new intel books to be released soon, or any intel macs to be released soon due to the fact that... Why would apple cut the developers timeline in half that they were originally given to get their apps released with universal binaries? Wouldn't they have to have told the developers about an earlier release date in order to ensure working apps without having to rely completely on rosetta? And if they did tell developers this wouldn't that news most surely have been leaked by now and in a much more creditable mention?
I for one am also now planning on getting a 15" powerbook and I am sure it will make me quite happy to be using it. I rely on my powerbook for work so for me, waiting for a possible year and half is not an option.
