I've several (10-20) jpg files on my iBook that appear corrupted. They won't load in any of my graphics programs. In the finder the correct thumbnail does appear. Is there a file utility that might repair these files? Is there a utility to find these corrupted files other than manually trying each one? I have over 6000 image files on my iBook. What I done so far is do a slideshow in GraphicConverter with the time interval set for 0.5 seconds. The program halts at the last good file and spins for awhile before skipping the bad file and going on.

I have never tried this but I know prosoft had a product to fix what you are talking about. Check out this software:
http://www.prosoften...ture_rescue.php
Perhaps it works? If you do try it, stop back and let us know your results...?

I'd seen that product during a search, but upon reading their literature it appears to work with digital cameras and memory cards, not hard drive files.
