Can't wait to give it a try, although I think its around 300$, so I won't buy it.
Anyone knows where to get good AUs for guitar in Garage Band and/or Live ?

I just gave it a quick try and was able to dial in Zakk Wylde's tone using GR 2's new JCM 800 amp. It sounded pretty good after a couple of minutes of playing around.

Jim, g'day. Think you're going to spring for the full upgrade, or just get the software, or leave well enough alone?
Depending on the feedback I hear, I intend to get just the software upgrade. Excited about the new tones, especially for bass modeling, too. I already have an audio box, although it's cool that the new rig is also a sound card and has MIDI.

Try the Apple Discussion GarageBand 2 Forum. Lots of guitar players there doing some amazing things with alot of links. Also, look into M-Audio. They give free software simulators with some of their hardware.

For me, the addition of the JCM 800 is enough to upgrade the software. The big question for me is the hardware -- I'll let you know more about that.

Cool. Maybe I can expect a review sometime?
I'm not into the foot controller that much. I'd probably spring for it if I thought it was going to be better than my Edirol UA-25 for audio I/O. I'm more interested in tonal possibilities so the software is kind of a no-brainer - as long as it gets decent feedback, I'm in.

You can definitely expect to see a review soon!
I really got into pedals in the last year, so I'm really interested to see what's new with the foot controller. If it does what I think, it may be worth a complete upgrade. Have no fear, I'll let you know what I think /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't play the Guitar.. but I just wanted Professional Sounding Audio Input to my computer for Voice. I'm using the M-Audio FastTrack Guitar/Mic Recording Interface. It's AMAZING to say the least.. I bought it with the Microphone kit that came with the package although you can get it cheaper without the microphone. The only down side that you can't record your voice and guitar simultaneously if that's your thing.
It works with Garage Band without ANY drivers and they do provide Software Pedal inhancements that you can install to give different effects. I haven't tried those as I said earlier I don't play guitar. The quality is Good. M-Audio makes Good stuff and this will work with Pro-Tools if you desire to purchase it.

Maybe you could pit it off against Amplitube 2, when it becomes available. I'm pretty sure GR2 is the better sounding product, but a comparison would be interesting.
