Hi. I recently bought my first mac( a 15" Powerbook G4). It's great so far. Way faster than my old P4 laptop. I'd like to use a shared printer and internet connection with my P4 desktop at home. Can I do this with the following equipment?
PBook G4 with Airport Extreme
Dell P4 Desktop w/ Dell printer
Belkin Wireless pre-N router
Here's the catch, I live about a mile outside of current dsl service. I bought the router once when the phone company told me I could get dsl and held on to it. I want to use the router so that I can print and use a dial-up connection from my laptop without having to plug in a phone line. Is this possible? If not, is there a way to make it work with different equipment? Thanks.
Walt

Hi:
Regarding the dial-up connection, I don't know, BUT I am sure the Extreme base does support and has a modem port for regular telephone cables.
Is it going to work with both Mac and PC?, YES. I have 2 Windows laptops and 2 Macs connected to same network (Extreme base and express base) and I am able to print from any of them in my HP photosmart printer via wireless. Make sure you install the printer software in every computer. To connect the printer via wireless in PCs is a little pain in the a>>. I Windows computer make sure to point printer port to the extreme base IP number and chose RAW protocol instead of LPR. That's the trick, it took me 1 hour to discover that.
Good luck! Let me know if you need any help. Did I tell you I love my mac?
