When I try to network between my Mac and PC, I cannot access the shared folders on the PC. I can however, see the Mac shared items from my PC. When I try to connect from the Mac to the PC it keeps asking for a password, but I dont have one assigned. Can someone provide easy instructions for setting up my network? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Mike.

I often need to network my mac to a windows computer. I often find that getting file sharing working in windows is allot more difficult then it is on the mac.
For example. If you share a folder on the desktop of a windows computer you have to share the entire user folder in order to see that folder. And if that is the only folder you are sharing you might not be able to log in.
I did that for a folder on our network in which I have to put pictures in taken with a digital camera.
I put the folder on the windows computer in the all users desktop folder. Shared that folder. and thought everything was good.
However, I still cannot connect to that computer and put files in that folder.
Sometimes I need to share the entire hard drive before I can get this to work.
Also, the login window will always appear even if you have not set a password. Just leave the password field blank.
Here are some links to articles on how to do this.

Hope this helps....
If not I will investigate more and provide step by step instuctions.
