OK, so I am even more confused than I was before. The song file I sent you looked like an mp3 to me at this end; are you saying it no longer was that?
And how could all this have happened anyway? Can I assume that some person accessed my computer in the night and monkeyed around with my files, probably to punish me for using the file sharing program? How is this possible?
I have lots of questions, and you are the only one responding to this thread, so I hope you can help me (when you are done with your new presents, of course!)

sent the file to a friend.
dunno what will become of it, he knows lots more than I.
first look he said it was like much of the files running around kazaa and whatnot.
laced with malware and spyware and other such windows nasties.
give him a while.
mebbe he will come up with something. I sent him a link to this thread also.
