If you’re shopping for an inexpensive color laser printer, you should consider the Xerox Phaser 6120/N. It gives you excellent photographic image quality, networking and PostScript 3 features, and an abundance of high-end optional upgrades. more

Is it really toner-based or solid-ink-based? Xerox purchased the solick-ink printer division of Tektronix years ago, and now some of Xerox "laser" printers are not true "laser" ones.
Can you print true bright-vibrant "transparent" transparencies with it as you can make with an ink-yet printer?
I wish the editors would consider such essential features in future reviews.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!

The review should have stated the PPM ratings, and then done its analysis of speed against the advertised ratings.
I think that Xerox is the OEM for Dell's color lasers. Anyone know which Xerox printer corresponds to which Dell printer? This is A Good Thing To Know so you can shop around for printer cartridges. (They ain't cheap!)

Have had a frustrating experience with a larger Xerox laser (Phaser 6300DN) - the print is much bolder than my older PostScript laser. To be specific, Minion Regular printed on the Phaser looks like Minion Semibold printed on the old machine. Same may apply to the 6120.
I decided I would have to live with this limitation - there seems to be nothing that can be done about it - but any prospective Phaser buyer should be aware of this issue.
