Ditto on the ducking function: I also find it takes too long to recover. The fact that you can't see the curve it creates is because it doesn't create one. I'm guessing it uses a compressor that's linked to the lead tracks. The resulting volume curve is actually a function of attack and release. I liked the idea though so I recreated it in Logic Pro with much greater control. I'll be talking about that in my own podcast this week (hint search for jade leary in iTunes/hint).

Just a minor correction: iChat frame grabs don't just appear on color-screen iPods; they also appear in iTunes when the podcast is played back, along with any other artwork you've added to the podcast track.
