Ok, so I purchased a powerbook in december, used it twice, and now the macbook has come out. Im considering unloading the PB on ebay and picking up a macbook. I hate the thought of using something that will be obsolete in a year since I plan on keeping this for a long time. So, being that I play music for a living and travel 8 months out of the year, and need a great laptop to record music while on the road.....should I make the switch? Will toast 7 work on macbook? any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Read throught the forums here (tons of posts just like yours) and also the Macworld articles on the MacBook Pro... you'll find a lot of information that will help you determine if a MacBook Pro is a good idea right now.
New Macs being released isn't like the old days (several months ago) when it was a no brainer to get the newest release if you absolutely had to have the modest bump in speed. With new Macs being released with Intel chips, and many software programs requiring Rosetta emulation to work on those new chips (and take a speed hit), you have to carefully look at how you use your Mac and what software you use in order to see if a new Intel Mac actually makes sense.
