Hello,
I got a Thawte certificate today in the hope that I can be a bit more secure in future. Managed to get the certificate and public/private keys into my keychain no problemo!
Now comes the problem. When I start a new email, all the tutorials I've read say I should be able to see a button in the top right saying "Signed" or something. I couldn't really tell you because I don't get anything at all????!!!
Does anyone know what I've done wrong? I'm using Mail 1.3.11 (v622/623) on Panther.

It won't say signed, but there will be an icon. Do you have a screenshot you could share?

Couldn't work out how to attach a file to this post so uploaded it to my website here
I changed my Account Name and Full Name in the account settings to the certificate's name, but it made no difference.

Yeah, something is amiss. Which instructions did you use?

This one from the MacDevCentre but I did deviate from it by not using Firefox. I'm using Shiira as my browser, and it popped everything into the keychain for me.

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Ah, find one cockroach and soon you will find more...
Tried repairing permissions with Onyx, it hung. Restarted, tried repairing permissions with newer version of Onyx, still hangs. Tried with Disk Utility and it failed.
and my Mail still doesn't have a sig!
Not sure what to do now.
