savas, i have to say because of the brenthaven's price tag... i hadn't even looked at their website... but their computer sleeve is a good deal and also has some big fans in terms of the padding and safety of the tibook.

but my question is, the only brenthaven sleeve that fits the tibook is the "oversized" sleeve.

that's only landscape... not portrait... so you can only use the brenthaven oversized computer sleeve in a sachel and not a backpack. it seems to me that the padding is underneath of the tibook. and that if you put the tibook in the sleeve and then in a backpack... you'd have the padding on the side and not under the computer where you'd need it.

is this correct?

Actually, the Brenthaven Ti bag sleeve is fully padded all over. There is 3/8-5/8" (? don't know exactly) foam on all four sides, bottom, and the top (the fold over flap has a padded insert that sits into the opening when closed). The front and back also have rigid plastic inserts to keep the shape. It could easily go into a backpack, and with a little velcro tape, you could even secure it as the sleeve has a velcro strip on the top of the back.

Savas - I agree, the lack of bottom scuff protectors is the only real flaw in an otherwise great bag. A bit big for some people, but for me, it's nice and roomy for the Ti, power adapter, spare battery, Visor, cables, some CDs, notebooks, files, etc, etc.

I've got to weigh in on the Waterfield Design sleeve at http://www.sfbags.com
The workmanship is really first rate and the sleeve is made EXACTLY to fit the machine. I like a sleeve because I didn't want to abandon my normal business bag and this way I can just slip the iBook inside. The sleeve doesn't take up much room.

I like the Waterfield sleeve, but wish they had an option to add hand-carry handles, in addition to the shoulder strap.

The sleeve and the Racer-X bag made by Waterfield are first-rate. I looked around for a month before I decided on the case I wanted, and the Waterfield was the absolute winner. Go for it!

MacGromitt,

In regards to your question re: the LapDog; both the eClipse and LapDog are suspended like a file in a file folder.

Give Tom Bihn a call. You can speak directly with him and ask questions about all of his cases to your hearts content. He is very nice and knowledgable re: all the cases he carries.

Have you decided what case to get yet?

Gregg

Please note that I emailed SJD and their G4 Powerbook (TiBook) version is due out in a few months.

I can't believe Timbuk2 isn't listed here... Their bags/sleeves are all customizable. Very cool.

I bought a leather sleeve for my Ti from J.R.Hill
http://www.jrhillandcompany.com/

It's nice, padded, simple, well made, medium priced and fits like a glove.

The screen protector is very thin leather (this is a good thing).
