MacGromitt,

Thanks for the compliment. I haven't noticed any static electricity issues at all. I was actually more concerned about fleece fuzz, but so far no problems. I don't think it's real fleece anyway since it cost a whopping $5.99/sq yd. I just had to have the print, it was too cool to pass up (for me). I plan on making one for each season of the year. images/icons/smile.gif

If you need still more choices, check out http://www.dropmfg.com
They make a bag specifically for the TiBook, it's called the "MacDaddy". I think the bag is made for snowboarders / skiiers so it should be rugged. I haven't seen one in person, so I can't give any recommendations on it, but it is another choice worth looking at, and you might be able to check it out at a local sporting goods shop.

PBG4 Dude,
Actually, this went from "my own quest" for a perfect case/sleeve for my Tibook to... 'MacGrommit's personal mission to research and compile all the options (good and bad) for other TiBook owners'.

I just noticed that there were few central primers for this subject. But from the response the this thread and also emails that I've received from users... this is a much needed topic.

So bring on the other options! (My personal interest is to hear first hand experiences... good and bad.)

I heard a rumor that MacGrommit has a web site specifically devoted to IBook and Ti Sleeve/ Case recommendations in addition to a weekly TV show about the same subject.

You guys all seem like a happy, helpful bunch....so here goes...

I've been searching (in vain) for a funky looking, durable bag for my 12" iBook (the one that looks like a Chiclet)....thing is...I live in Toronto..so currency conversion and shipping will beat me down...

Any suggestions? Does anyone have the MacCase for iBook by Jambags (Kusuma)? Any suggestions would be mucho appreciated....

Another entry in this discussion:

While not being toted (pardon the pun) as a specific Tibook bag, some of you may be interested in looking at this kind of bag.

blank>Swiss Army/Victorinox "Web Cadet"

As I see it:

Pros:
Vertical design (if that's what you're looking for)
Laptop protection insurance for 1 year/$1500 (no deductable) thrown in free.

Cons:
No description of the padding.
Very, "i've got a laptop in here" looking

Hey Newtonstreek or anyone else who has used on of the Icon bags from Spire, how much room is there in it after you put your notebook in it? Enough for some books, notebooks and computer accessories?

I can't comment about the Icon, but I have one of the Spire Zoom backpacks. I originally got the Zoom for my Wallstreet and there was just the right amount of room left over for accessories (Zip module, Zip disks, adaptors) and some magazines, files, sketchbooks, etc. I don't use it as much now that I insist on carrying the bare minimum to get me through my day, but I still highly recommend Spire bags.

PBG4 Dude, that case you constructed is wicked awesome!! It looks like your TiBook's on acid! Hmmm... I don't think I could let mine come over and play with yours now images/icons/shocked.gif
For the rest of you... Get the sleeve by GoInCase!! Can't get much better for 40 bucks, and it looks really awesome when you carry it. Everybody who's anybody is gonna know a TiBook's in there because it's the only notebook that'll fit in it!

I've been using the Port 2.1 series computer bags and find them amazing. Great protection, useable pockets galore if you happen to like being organized. Top loading, so you can get at your stuff easily. Loads of features. Fits even a Ti, or an iBook or a Pismo - the inner area for the computer is adjustable. Check it out. Too numerous in features to put it all here. - comes in various stages of pockets, from a slim design all the way to one that has wheels, otherwise you'll break your back when it's loaded up.

Today I got my Willow Design Ti slip case and it is AWESOME! images/icons/grin.gif http://www.willowdesign.com/SC-08.html
It is just what I wanted. It is a light small case that is sturdy, well padded and it has enough extra stuff like pen and handheld pockets, a side folder and netted compartment to make it perfect on it's own. Yet it's still small enough it easily fit in a book-bag. It is such a great case and a steal at $65 that I think I'm going to keep it and hope that I will get a Ti sometime.

Aloha,
Having read all the reviews and looked at web sites, I still do not find exactly what I am looking for. Living in Hawaii and it being a overall wet environment, does anyone make a neoprene wet suit glove like cover for a PB? For here, that would be the real "dakine".
