Hi there, I'm hoping someone can point me in right direction but no cd's are being read by my superdrive, music or game. However the install disc dvd and film dvd's are working just fine. Cd's are being spat out after 30 seconds of trying to read!
I have a G5 iMac, and it is fully updated.
I'd appreciate any help!
Thanks!

Hi there,
I just have my cd preferences set to run to iTunes when cd is inserted? But I'm not even getting the cd appear on my desktop when the cd is inserted, it just tried for about 30 secs to read it and then spits it out!
I've read this a few times now on this site but mainly on Apples own so if anyone has had this happen before then please do let me know! It just started happening all of a sudden!
Thanks!

Okay I had this happen to my Playsation 2, it would read CD's but not dVD's. It happened out of the blue on a unit that was only 4 months old, it turned out that the laser was bust and I had to get a new one. This may not be the case for you but it's just my experience in a matter similar to this.

Hi, thanks for the advice! I do fear it is going to be something like that!
I am going to take a very long shot and insert a cleaning cd just to see if that makes a difference but I'm sure it won't! If not I'll have to call Apple.
This has just come out of the blue too!
Anybody else any ideas?
Thanks again!
