Anyone hear of this:
My junk email box has the number of unread emails next to it (as I'm sure your's does) which will vary from 1 to 1000 depending on when I clean it out.
When I do go to the smartmenu and tell it to "delete all junk mail" there is always "1" left. Always.
If I go into each mail box, there is nothing there????
No matter how many times I delete all, there is always "1"?
Restarting mail, or the OS after cleaning out the mail box makes no diff...still "1" in there?
Any ideas.....??

-Hi,
I don't use Apple's Mail much, but try this for fun: Click on Junk->Command + i--> click tab 'Mesages on Server'-->peek there. :-/

Dougster:
Nice to hear from you.
hope you are well....
That was interesting...Command "I" did turn up two msg on the .Mac account from May 2005, but it's the Earthlink Mail that has the "1" message I can't see or erase.
At least you've helped me narrow down the field to one box....still stuck though.
Any other ideas??
Thanks
RichL

A long shot: Can you go to Earthlink.com, and check your mail from 'their' website? A friend had a piece of mail from his AAAHawk sever, that kinda was ornery like your's at the other end.
[Edit] one other thought: Can you click 'Not Junk', and forward it to yourself, and see what happens. Another long shot... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Dougster:
yes, you can access EL mail on-line.
So I went up there and looked in the folders...nothing...no messages stuck or sitting there??
When I open my Junk Mail Mailbox, the account that has the "1" next to it even has a carat next to it, but when I click it, it shows nothing??
Strange huh?

Rich
guess it's time to call one of those mythical creatures you see on the ELN commercials and see if they can help identify and clear up the unknown. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes -Rich, but don't ya just hate that. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif As -Mark kinda mentioned, maybe its possesed, and will go away by itself. Not sure its worth the trouble, but you might try placing Mail's prefs in the trash, and relaunching Mail app. If it doesn't work, you could always place the old prefs back: ~[home]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist.

Two things to try:
Select Earthlink's Junk folder and choose "Rebuild" from the "Mailbox" menu.
Force a rebuild of all mailboxes by deleting EnvelopeIndex.
