After a recent trip to a local apple store for a memory upgrade (as to not void the warranty), My new mini is very loud. Should I return to the apple store?
Thanks,
Chris

None of the minis I've seen has been particularly loud (and my Solo is quieter than the G4 it replaced). If it's really making noise - especially if it wasn't before you brought it in - get them to look at it. Depending on the specific noise, it could indicate a mechanical issue that will shorten the life of the machine.

There is a little black wire by the IR remote antenna that has to be removed from its socket in order to raise the HD and Optical dirves out of the way to upgrade the memory. This wire regulates the fan speed - if it is not pushed ALL the way back on the fan blows at full speed, causing the noise. You'd think that the Apple techs would have this down by now. Take it back or crack it yourself and push the little black wire fixture all the way into its socket, then the noise will stop.
