MacMAME: anybody have experience with this

I'm considering downlowding macMAME from a website and some free ROMs
anybody have any experience with these?
I have a brand new iMac and don't want to mess it up.
please advise.

If by "new iMac" you mean an Intel-based systems, bear in mind that MacMAME isn't Intel-native yet and probably won't be for a while, since it's a volunteer project. Having said that, it works well enough on Intel Macs under Rosetta, as long as you stick to software rendering and don't go OpenGL.
