hi all,
I have .mac. (using 10.3.9)
I can sync address book, bookmarks.
But
I'm getting a "Data Change alert" popup. It goes like this.
More than 5% of your contacts will be changed by this synchronization.
The following changes will be made if you proceed.
Then it shows "This Computer. Add/102, Delete/-, Modify/-."
Cancel or Proceed.
?, what will happen, (proceed), is this a good thing or not. Should I hit proceed considering I don't know what will happen.
And that's why I'm asking you all.
Thanks
Peter

Peter.
if you hit /mac with your browser and do stuff.. even look at mail..
or vice versa.. you will get those changes.
I always let it add data to my machine.
a modification may just be a read mail being marked as such.
and the contacts are usually added, not subtracted.

M,
I'll do that (add).
But I did have to ask first. Otherwise I'll be hit with "hasn't he learnt anything yet"/forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks mate,
Peter

Hi M,
It's still not right.
I deleted isync, backups and am redoing as of now.
?, How long does it take to load? It never seems to finish but it does seem to have loaded. I'll copy the log.

personal opine...
it sounds like it's completed sync, but then lost it's connection into .mac
if it were me, check your stuff on your mac... and if it looks fine, go into .mac with Safari and toss it all.
then you can re-sync and load .mac all fresh.

The cheese is about right and I'm getting told to get off the computer.
I went into .mac, addresses, Preferences, turned off sync -saved, then turned it back on -saved and the sync adjusted.
So for the moment I'm done,
Thanks M, enjoy the Red.
