I have a Tiger family pack installer. One of the household Mac's is an iMac (flat panel) with CD but no DVD. It cannot read the Tiger installer which is on DVD. Is it possible to connect to the PB G4 via Firewire and let the G4 provide the DVD installation files?

you can certainly give it a shot...i think it may work actually
and another thing: you may also be able to just simply share the drive over a network without target disk mode...but that could be too slow and a bit unreliable for an OS installation

I installed Tiger onto my old CDROM equipped iBook with my Mac Mini booted into Firewire Target Disk Mode with the Tiger install DVD in the mini's Combo Drive.
Tiger installed with out any problems or errors and works great!
