Does anyone know how to find out what kind of power supply is needed for the G4 400Mhz (Gigabit) tower? The fan in my power supply is starting to sound like an airplane.
I am getting really conflicting information from the internet, the user manual that came with my computer is offering no help at all and neither is Apple's website.
I need to know what wattage it needs, is it ATX, how many pins, etc.
I know power requirements depend on what I have stuffed in it but I haven't made to many upgrades that should have required an increase in power usage. Here are my specs:
I've upgraded the CPU to a Sonnett G4 1Ghz (has it's own fan)
Memory has been upgraded to 768 MB (3 DIMMS)
Video Card has been upgraded to a ATI 64MB (ATI 9000?) AGP x4
Hard Drive has been upgraded to a 80GB 7200
Installed USB 2.0 card but most of my USB devices are plugged into a USB hub with it's own power supply
15" Studio Display
Thanks

You can download your Mac's Service Manual here:
http://www.whoopis.com/computerrepair/
The manual will show the Apple P/N & you can do a Google search.
