I have had issues with my networking (specifically speed of printing over network) since I moved and got a new broadband set-up. OK, things work, but slowly. However, I have just noticed a positive oddity. If I print from the server (my ancient grape iMac 333) with an AppleWorks document, it takes no time at all. It's like before I moved and everything printed quickly whether I was using the iMac or my wireless iBooks---whether it was AppleWorks, Word, Preview, etc.. But, then I attempted a word doc on the same iMac. And..it took...forever. So, if it's a native Apple application----is that why it prints so quickly?
And yes, I know, I need to get a faster server...and I will..soon.Maybe a new iMac which lord knows what that will do with my old nework. But meantime, I'm ecstatic about this positive development. I only wish I used AppleWorks more..
Any thoughts on my thesis? Does the native app of an AppleWorks make this go faster than nonNative?
