Every time I try and access the NY Times web site I receive the following message:
Safari cant open the page http://www.nytimes.com/. The error was: lost network connection (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
I contacted the Times who suggested I clear cache which didn't work.
Can anyone help????
Thanks,
Mike

-Hi,
If you already have Cookies enabled (default) might try placing Safari's prefs in the trash. Quit Safari->~[Home]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. After placing com.apple.Safari.plist in the trash re-launch Safari for a test drive and a new one will be created.

Hi,
I tried your fix and it worked for a little while. Then I tried today and was asked to login and whne I entered my name and password got the following error message:
Safari cant open the page http://www.nytimes.com/auth/login. The error was: lost network connection (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
m

-Hi,
oops, thats a bummer. Since I don't use Safari a lot I'm shootin' from the hip, but you might try logging into a different User Account to try and narrow the issue. If it works w/ a different user you'll know the problem lies in your Account. Also, maybe try deleting the cookie from NYT site, and RE-register with a different user, and password.
