i couldn't open any file converted from indesign CS2 to CS version? error message from the CS version: "...pls upgrade to the latest plug-in or upgrade to CS2..." where to upgrade the plug-in? is it free? any good suggestion? pls advise.

Unfortunately you can't open CS2 files in CS. You will have to get CS upgraded to CS2. This has been a pain since the first version. When the next one came along you couldn't back save to an earlier version.

Not entirely true. You can't open an InDesign CS2 file directly in InDesign CS, but if the CS2 file is exported in INX format, it can be opened in CS (after you've applied the 3.0.1 update I lilnked to above).

Share InDesign CS2 files with InDesign CS users. Install the latest update to InDesign CS so it can open INX files exported from InDesign CS2.
