It just seems that most USB 2.0 peripherals are cheaper than firewire. At only 35 $ it should pay for itself.

Since new powerbooks have a pci slot, it should. Also, MacAlly is a longtime macintosh peripheral vendor so they should also have a working driver. However, I don't have one of these contraptions (but for only $35, I may get one!) so I can't say with 100% certainty that it works. Call the manufacturer and ask if the exact machine is supported - they should be able to say.

Hi
You'll have to find a PC-Card (PCMCIA) solution in order to use it with a PowerBook. They look almost like thick credit cards. The dimensions, anyay.

It probably would, if you had a place to put it. images/icons/wink.gif No laptop has a PCI card.

And is absolutely correct - thanks for the correction elmacino and others - I was thinking of the PCMCIA slot. Sorry for the miscue, Johnathon - between finals and work I haven't been getting much sleep lately. Should've realized that sounded too good to be a PCMCIA card.

Hi
It's OK dakota. images/icons/smile.gif I fully understand. Right now, I'm taking a quick break from a big project due in a few days. Go, take a nap.
