I have just anstalled my parents' new Intel Mac mini with their old HP Deskjet 840c printer.
The printer was instantly recognized by Tiger, but prints with text - with all all apps and all fonts - have a very peculiar fault: letters have the right width and the leading is correct, but all letters have double height. Apart from looking ridiculous, the result is that all letters are cut in half (vertically).
In Preview, all pages look perfect - but when printing from Preview the result is the same.
Any explanation and suggestion is welcome!

I'm having the same issue. Are there global margin settings? The same problem occurs in all programs

Those settings dont normally appear with HP printers. Try resetting it.

I've tried that already to no avail /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif The Gimp driver works to some extent, not all the fonts work though.
