Is there a program the replaces or does the same database management as Microsoft access available for the MAC.

I don't know about exact "replacement" but FileMaker Pro is a good and very capable database application that works on both platforms (though, I use it only on Macs). [Whenever I need to use Access, I do so viai Citrix on the server but that's another story.]

While there are seveal database programs for the Macintosh, none of them can read your Access database and make use of it.
However, you can migrate your Access database to FileMaker Pro
http://www.filemaker.com
running on a Macintosh with:

FmPro Migrator for MacOS X
http://www.fmpromigrator.com/
See:

If you want a list of database programs for the Macintosh, other than FileMaker Pro, let me know.
