The problem I have with QT Pro is that it will play back a DVD file, but not the audio. A real drag seeing how I want to edit the target DVD and create a reference file to cut out nude scenes so my kids can watch certain videos. Unfortunately, this player, and the pro version, do not allow any editing or creation of reference files. Sigh, keep looking.
However! Quicktime Pro CAN open the files, and I can then create a reference file from there, and BOTH players will play the edited version! This looks like good news.
It will not read VOB files. Then its useless to me.

I think that it is inaccurate to describe this as a Universal Binary release. The QT codecs and most of the subsystem components are reported as being Universal, but both DivX Converter.app and DivX Player.app are reported as PowerPC applications. I'm installing on a MacBook Pro, so I've been trying not to install non Universal/x86 software.
One question I have that hasn't been answered by Roxio is the upgradeability of the bundled DivX license. I'm fairly certain that Roxio claimed that they were bundling Divx Pro 6. Can this be used to upgrade to DivX Pro 6.5?

I just bought DivX for Mac last week. I see no way to simply get the player now. I certainly won't be purchasing agian if they don't include a free upgrade after only one week.
I just want to DL the player and see no way to do this. Or am I missing something?
