If you want the same speed as you are getting on your dell, I think the only solution is to run wiring up to the room where your powermac is... you probably have to get a router, and run an ethernet cable up to the powermac, but that may slow down your internet a little...

being confused and angry solves nothing..
take a deep breath and relax.
patience has it's rewards.
the modem is set up...find out the model and if it has a router built in.. some do, some don't.
Then..does your G5 have an airport built in? you can look under the top left menu click the apple, the About this Mac and More Info..then Network...Airport Card.
if it does...
and the modem has a router built in, you will need a Wireless bridge or switch.
or you can just go ahead and get a wireless router and turn the router in it off easy enough.
it's basically plug and play after that.
if your modem has no router built in, you will need one.
if your mac has no airport, you need to run a Cat5/6 cable to your G5.

In my experience Airport Express or any other 54mbs Wireless router shouldn't slow down your connectivity in any way that is that noticeable. As long as your computer is within a decent range of the wireless router and all your wireless hardware and firmware is up to date (current). Fo instance if your airport card is 3 years old, and not express, your going to see a speed difference compared to the newer hardware available.
I run a mac and a PC off a cable modem and they both connect wirelessly. I play online games that take pretty much eat up all the broadband you can possibly give them and I have 0 problems.
Hope that helps answer the speed question.
