what are you watching with?
i watch my ripped DVDs in Video_TS format with VLC. just select the main folder that holds the video and audio folders and go for it.

Apple's own DVD player is also quite capable of playing the entire movie if the VIDEO_TS folder is selected as the source.
macnuke, in your experience, does the sound in VLC ever get slightly out of synch?

heh
only if you muck around with FF or leaping thru chapters.
it's great for a straight thru play.
but if you wanna skip/leap/pause, then yeah, use DVDplayer.app on the Video folder.
I use VLC mostly due to habit and I chop a scene out once in a while for my collection of desktop pics.

But I always muck around... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I do remember something from the past about this and probably that is why I do not use it too often.

when usin VLC for viewing... yo select the folder that contains BOTH VideoTS and AudioTS..... don't go any deeper.
for burning, I use Popcorn. but Toast 7 is fine.
select the folder the same folder you selected with VLC.

well, you have iTunes, iDVD and Disk Utilities.. technically those weren't free.
but you won't burned a ripped DVD with them.
at least not easily

Popcorn or Toast
current version of Toast has popcorns features built into it.. it cost a bit more also.
Popcorn is for DVD burning only.
you can find them on the Roxio website
