I use the -` shortcut to cycle through open Excel X for Macs workbooks, as one would in most Mac apps. But what happens is that the active workbook (i.e., the one in front when I start hitting -`) stays active even though other workbooks come to the front as I hit the shortcut. In order to activate the front workbook, I have to click on it, which kind of defeats the idea of using a shortcut. My question is: how does one cycle through the workbooks using a shortcut such that each workbook that comes to the front is active?

Use the CTRL key, not CMD key.

Well, duhhh. I tried all sorts of complex keystroke combinations; somehow I missed that one. Thanks for the help. You get a gold star next to your name!
