I've had my macbook pro for about 6 weeks now, and after having the cooling fans replaced and the power inverter replaced, it's finally working perfectly, except, sometimes, when i wake it from sleep, it freezes. The screen is on, and my desktop is there, but nothing works, not even the mouse. I tried closing the lid again and giving it a second, but it just stays that way. anyone know anything i can do?

macbook pro freezing on wake from sleep?

I've had success plugging in an external mouse, closing the lid waiting for the sleep pulse and then opening it again. I've only seen the problem a couple of times and the last time was the first time I thought to plug in a new USB device so it is possible this isn't always going to work.
The last time I saw this, I noticed that the MBP wasn't going to sleep (ie no sleep pulse.) I could hear the HDD spin up and then down, over and over. My theory is that plugging in the mouse probably reset the USB hardware which was preventing the sleep. Once I could sleep, the keyboard and trackpad were also reset on wake allowing normal operation.

I have a G4 AGP Graphics running 10.4.6. Once in a while I have a problem waking from sleep. I can bump the mouse to wake it, the disks spin up, but nothing on the screen. I have to unplug the computer. It seems more susceptible when applications are running. And it appears that if some apps like MS Word are running, it might not go to sleep at all.
Consistently, upon a successful wake-up, my mouse is frozen for about 30 seconds. When I say consistent, I mean this happens without fail. How long have you waited before taking action (removing battery, etc.). could drivers be the problem?
The first part sounds similar. Maybe someone has a similar experience or solution. ?
