what is the most recent version of java that will run on OS 10.2.8 ? I have been trying to find this on apples site but I cant find it for some reason. can someone give me a link to it? thanks

have you perused the java.sun.com website? you might try there, they wrote the stuff after all.

the java site just sends you to the mac site. my problem is that im trying to download from this site https://bootlegs2.pearljam.com/ and this is the only site where java will not work for me, everywhere else i try it works. any ideas

not all link into Apple.
you need to look around for the links into sun.. or start looking at www.sun.com
just pay attention to where the links go and stay off the ones into Apple.

The last version of Java for 10.2 was Java 1.4.1, according to the downloads available at Apple. That was back in November 2003, and everything else since then seems to say for Panther and/or Tiger.
I don't know why the site isn't working - it's fine under Tiger and Java 1.5
P.S. the link above is for the November Java update. Java 1.4.1 itself was included (IIRC) in the 10.2.8 update of September 2003.
