iWeb: Freezes shortly after start

Hi everyone,
For my more sophisticated website I am using Dreamweaver, however, I wanted to try out iWeb for some quick travel picutres etc.
When I start iWeb it works fine... for about 30-60 seconds. Then it completely freezes up and I have to force-quit the application. This freezing occurs quicker as soon as I try to insert media from iphoto....
I heard that this is a problem many users have and I wonder if there's a fix?
Appreciate any help!

Specs:
iWeb Version: 1.1.1
Mac OS: Tiger, latest software updates
Hardware: iMac Intel Duo
p.s. the search function of this forum did not work properly today - so I'm not sure if this has been discussed already.

Alright... just to complete this thread, I found the problem:
In my movie folder was one movie file that was corrupted and it seems that iWeb constantly checks this folder.
I deleted the file and the problem was gone!
