I realize that the speakers are tiny on this MB...but I can't hear anything until I get it up past half way mark and it doesn't get much louder after that.......
Anyone else notice this??

Hi
I've noticed all Apple portable computer speaker systems to be pretty quiet. With that size of speaker, it isn't at all surprising.

There are 16 "steps" in the visual volume window. With headphones on, 16 is painful.....but as you pass below 8 the sound is too low.
Shame.....hope an update fixes this up a little....
Otherwise I'm very happy with this MacBook....it's plenty fast....

True for speakers but the control does actually work when you have low impedence headphones plugged in... MBP speakers seem louder compared to MB.

To continue with the weirdness, the sound on my MacBook was much louder and better when I booted into Boot Camp/Windows but when I am running Parallels/Windows it's the same level as the Mac OS. It's expected result but why louder in Boot Camp?

Maybe the audio drivers in Windoze are better optimized to the Intel chips??

I think the sound level can be improved by using VLC media player for OS X. Worth a try.

Yeah, mine's a little low but okay in a quiet environment. I think a headset or ear buds would help in noisier ones when on the go, and at home, an Airport Express connected to a pair of Klipsch 2.1 (not to mention a USB printer and your hardwired network) would be a good thing. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

yes...when I hook up headphones it seems to be fine. I can get to earsplitting sound levels. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nothing that experience (advancing age!) can't fix! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The sound on my MacBook is halving at about 2 steps below maximum. Below 5 steps from the max, sound is almost completely muted.
Seems like the mini-speakers are the problem there. Still, I keep it at maximum all the time.
