i have all my music in mp3 format and want to burn a regular 15-track cd that will play on a normal cd-player. it would be easy enough to make copy of a cd, but in my case it is selecting random tracks from different albums and burning them onto one....can it be done with disk utility? how would i go about making the image?
thanks

Use iTunes and if you want to be able to play them on a CD player that doesn't support MP3 format, (a lot of them) make sure you use iTunes to convert your MP3's to AAC format using the AAC encoder built into iTunes.

Hi
Huh? A 'regular' audio CD uses AIFF files for the tracks. iTunes 'silently' converts all supported formats into AIFF and Compact Disc Digital Audio specifications for you when burning an audio CD.
An MP3 CD is indeed a collection of MP3 encoded files but that's noticeably different than your "run of the mill" audio CD.

I do this myself all the time with iTunes, using both music I have on cds and music I've bought from the iTunes store. I made a custom cd of kiddie music for my 3 year old to listen to in the car consisting of Nickolodeon stuff off the internet and Disney stuff off my own cds. All I did was drag, drop, and burn. The cd has played fine on any player I've loaded it into. I didn't have to do anything special.

Are you burning the music from your iTunes Library? Maybe I'm off track (no pun), but make a Playlist of the CD in iTunes for that particular 15-track CD, and burn.
