A lot of powerbook G4 owners have reported random sleep problems and the cure is unclear. Apple have not posted and Apple service centers are trying various tactics to fix this.... most dont work.
Problem is related to faulty temperature readings from the trackpad sensor. They read way high and cause an emergency sleep event to stop the computer from melting.... except that it is not actually hot at all. Resetting the PMU will cause the trackpad temp to drop to normal .... or in my case to 0 deg C !!!!
I've posted a blog to register owners with this problem so we can pressure Apple into fessing and fixing this regardless of warranty. Mostly hitting computers just out of warranty.... like my new PB!!! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Unfortunately NAP showed up after my warranty expired and to get to an Apple service center involves flying out of the country for me (in Sumatra, Indonesia)
Hoping Apple will fess and fix this. There are lots of customers with this problem.
Just revised my blog URL to: http://web.mac.com/g....A.P/N.A.P.html N.A.P. website
Glad to hear you are past it now.

Due to a few issues with .Mac I have yet again changed my N.A.P. address to:
http://web.mac.com/r....P./N.A.P..html
N.A.P. public page
