I've been itching to get to the Network Diagnostics app more easily and the method described in this article does the trick, sort of. I dragged the app out and put it on the desktop but when I earlier tried to create an alias by using apple key-option, as suggested (noticing that that option isn't available as a menu option...) my cursor turns into a hand and when I try to move the app, the whole window slides over and I am unable to drag anything. Why is that? It doesn't really matter now that I have a copy of the app but if I can get an alias, that'd be better.
Question #2: Is it bad to have TWO of these Core Services apps at once (some moreso than others)? I want to put the one I dragged out in a new folder in the Applications folder, probably in the Utilities folder but want to know that the OS won't be unhappy with two versions of it. (Ideally I want an alias though...) I realize that should the OS update it, I will need to have the updated version dragged out to it's new location...
Thank you.
